A JEALOUS CROW? 6-1-17
I wonder if the crow
Perched imperiously
Yet awkwardly
On the dead finger
At the top of the oak tree
Is jealous of the little
Unnamed bird nestled
In the gentled leaves
below
Whistling “Beautiful
Dreamer,”
Glad that Stephen Foster
is now
In the public domain
As all bird songs
Except for “Sky Lark,”
Have always been
