A man in a church where I
served an interim pastorate was a retired police officer who had worked the
evening shift. He said that one of his jobs was to make sure the police
department clocks were all in sync with one another and with the clocks at City
Hall. Each evening he called City Hall
to get the time from their clock. It was years before he learned that each
morning City Hall called the Police Department to get the time from their
clock. They just kept recycling the same time, right or not.
Children of God, be
careful where you check for the time, redeeming the time, because the days are
evil. Ephesians 5:15-16. [Okay, the Greek is a little fuzzy there.]
