BEYOND WINTER: The Irrelevant Musings of an Old Man—SUMMER SOLSTICE, A poem [F, 6-21-24]
SUMMER SOLSTICE
Already, days are shorter
at each end, less light
June lingers, looking back
over her shoulder
a wary eye
for something lost
or just misplaced
a stray daffodil
an awkward fawn
Or is okay just to go on?
